Wore out three sets of tires already!
I have been looking for a 1963-64 Jaguar in coppertone for a couple of years now. A close friend of mine who I grew up with spotted the bike in a garage and he asked me if he should buy it? He sent me some pics and of course I said grab it. Long story short he wanted a springer front coppertone bike to ride and enjoy and I wanted a coppertone 63 or 64 that needed detailing. We ended up trading bikes and both of us are happy plus I did not end up adding another bike to my collection. He ended up with my coppertone springer front 1965 American which I detailed a few years ago. I am looking forward bringing the Jaguar back to looking good and adding it alongside of my black one. There are a couple of spots on the paint that I might just have to live with but I figure that once I shine everything else up the flaws might not be so noticeable. Tim

I live for the CABE
Hey Tim

That is newer. Same shape rack with 4 reflectors is the right one. The two reflector started in 68 or 69 off the top of my head. I have one on my 70 Panther.

I have been working on the front wheel over the past day or two. The wheel needed cleaning/polishing, new grease and a spoke was missing. The bike came with black wall tires so I replaced the front one with a whitewall tire. This evening I worked on cleaning up the springer front . Hope to get this bike done before Trexlertown. Tim

Finally riding a big boys bike
From what I see, the bike is looking great (I don't see that good anymore). The correct carrier for this bike, beings it is a 1964 is what I call a "Square end" 4 reflector wire rack . It has the same shape ends as the 2 reflector rack like is on your red Panther, but with 4 reflectors, like your "Round end" 4 reflector rack on your blue 1959 Mark IV Jaguar. The round end 4 reflector racks were used from 1959 until 1961 on Schwinn's deluxe middleweights. From 1962 until 1967, they offered the square end racks with 4 reflectors. From 1968 until 1970, the last incarnation of the square end rack only had 2 "crutch-tip" reflectors on it. Also around the same time, there was a variation of this rack made with no reflectors on it. That was mostly used on Fleets and other lower grade middleweights from the early to mid 1960's.
