Jim Barnard
Wore out three sets of tires already!
I have only ever seen 3 of these in the 35 years I have been collecting banana bikes. This came out a year before the Barris Iverson Dragstripper, Rogue, Yellow Bird, Bandito and a few others that are considered the height of crazy muscle bike design. This Gemini started it all for Stelber. I am not sure if George Barris designed this or not. When I met him in his North Hollywood Shop, I had him autograph a green-gold Gemini guard along with 13 other Iverson guards. He did not say it was not one of his.
I do not think I am keeping this one. It is not as nice as the one I had before and not as nice as the other Gemini that Google Image has available.
This is completely original with the following exceptions: I added the reflective tape on the bars. I think longer white plastic tape is correct. I have put better levers and cable clips on. I have the originals that will go with it.
A cool feature is that this bike was sold by Marsh Motorcycles. Marsh was an Indian dealer that was well known in CT and Mass. I had not even known they sold bicycles.
You will need to do some chroming to save the bars and fenders. It will be worth it.
I have do not know what color this was when it was new. This is the original paint, but these Stelber paint jobs would change when exposed to sunlight. It is mustard now, but may have been orange or yellow.
This correct seat is in great shape with 1 of the 2 plastic accents intact.
I have another Shimano expansion tube that will go with this bike.
I will trade this for the right Raleigh chopper MK 1 bike (Orange 1970 10 speed or coaster single) or will entertain cash offers around $1,000.
Bike is in New London, CT
