1972 Raleigh LTD-3

Look Ma, No Hands!
For you Nottingham steel fans, here is a 23 inch LTD-3 with a Brooks B-72 and original frame pump I picked up for $100 at the local "fix a bike" nonprofit. The kids don't want these old three speeds. It was in the best shape I have ever seen for a 50 year old bike. I stripped it down and cleaned and overhauled it...and now she shines. Just awaiting a new set of Kool Stops to be rideable.

And you also managed to get the taller frame, which is harder to come by. Hmmm...time to visit some of these "not for profit" bike places.

Wow, she’s beautiful. Any photos before cleanup? To chronicle your hard work. Good news that kids don’t want them, more for us!

I usually take "before" pics but in this case I did not. It was super dirty but otherwise in almost untouched condition. Must have been stored indoors in low humidity. Barely a speck of rust on it.

And I’ll bet there are many of all makes and models in like condition hiding in basements and other storage spaces all across this wonderful country!
