Interesting springer fork there. You may have an 80 frame; MR= December 1980 but, your numbers on the badge are May 28, 1981, that's the build date. The color; Chestnut brown is also consistent with 1981 spring models. I.E. it is an 1981.
The Crown pivot tube is solid molded. The 79-83 Yokes had a 3 piece with two sided pivot tubes welded on yoke and kind of sloppy welding. IDK exactly when Schwinn stopped making the molded version albeit began in 1955. . There's a missing gap some time in 1970's when Schwinn stopped making them, and this 1981 built should not be on this bike. Later Schwinn springer Crowns are 3 piece yet no sloppy welds joining them even today, which are the cheapest ever.
Attached photo below: Here's a 1980 Deluxe springer, a close look at the 3 piece Crown reveals the sloppy weld joining tubes to yoke.
The 3 piece crown appears about 78- 79 so, an 81 with solid molded crown/pivot tube is very, very odd. An shop replacement maybe, factory leftover from mid 70's maybe but, not par with 1981. Affect value? IDK but it's simply not up to par, whether factory build, shop replacement or what?
