Schwinn street mod . Started life as a 1980 Cruiser 5 . Everything is new or has been restored. New forks, 27.5x 2.25 double wall aluminum rims, billet hubs, stainless spokes, Panaracer gravel tires, Shimano crank from an 1989 Schwinn Cruiser, Dia Compe Mx1000 Brakes, new chain and free wheel, Comes with original badge . I never rode it since the build so you can be the first to ride it .

It would look so much better without the pipe insulation covering the bars.
Those pads were for carrying your surfboard to the beach without scratching or dinging the rails (edges). They also kept your handlebars passenger from scorching her seat after the bike sat in the sun for a few hours. And yes, they never did look that great, and too many bikes ended up with them. It's a very cheap accessory.

It's not pipe insulation, it is hypalon padding that was all the rage back in the late 70's & 80's for the Schwinn Cruisers! It was one of the most popular ad-ons sold at our shop so the guys could take the bikini clad chics for a ride on the bars while riding up and down the bike path at the beaches in Southern California!

Damn, I should never have removed the foam from the handlebars on my 98 Trek cruiser.
