I think he is done with us, didn't he say he is too old for this sh##?
I'm not sure and don't really not concerned if he is, he started a very confusing thread and waffled back and fourth with the information provided. Maybe he can ask to have the post removed as it will prove to be rather useless for others when trying to actually understand the differences between different bikes.

My suspicious mind tells me the original poster may have been the seller. Drumming up interest on a “mislabelled” gem. 😆😟🤨

I think someone is “mid-reading” the 2nd number, Schwinn made the 2-tone stingray in 1980/1981
MR is December 1980, who knows when they built that bike, probably sometime in 1981
The picture of the serial number is very hard to read, can you post a clearer pic?

I bought a 1979 Garnet red resprayed black frame for $45.00, built up and and sold for $150.00 to a Weep pay flipper. Should have held out for more money. Was a nice little Stingray.

No he was interested in buying but not interested in listening to logic. He gone now

That's not how I saw the situation. He was dealing with a seller that was giving him incorrect conflicting information. It was proved that the bike couldn't be a 1980, the rear wheel was incorrect, and the price was over the value so he was no longer interested in that bike.
