so more pics bums me out about the scratches but again 20+ years in a shed
MY first post here. Was checking out 1988 schwinn lineup. After recently purchasing a prelude. ....Noticed the premis ....after a short search found this thread......and after my short lived road bike kick I figured I'd join another me forum.

WOW! I LOVE seeing the other two models of Premis! I had a hard time deciding which model to get back in 1988, but i settled on the purple/blue. Purchaced at The Bicycle Exchange in Fredericksburg VA. I still have the ole girl, with original receipt. I paid $519 in 1988. The rear wheel broke eventually and was replaced, but only recently so it lasted many years of riding my 6'3" butt around, i still have the broken wheel though... couldn't get myself to recycle it! 
Most everything is original on it except the handle bar tape (put yellow on it just like Harold did) with black brake lever covers (still have the white ones), i put 700×25 tires on it (after so many snakebites on original tires but i still have those as well!), and the rear wheel is replaced of course. The blue suede sattle broke in

I thought it was interesting Schwinn put these paint schemes out , it was immediately after Cannondale put out their custom painted frames out, all i remember is the little maybe airbrushed & multicoloured "X"s at the bottom where the chain and seat stay intersect , wasn't much of a "custom paint scheme" as it was very subtle. Schwinn came back swinging hard with these Premis bike's gnarly paint jobs!
I can post some pictures but just wanted to say THANK YOU FOR THIS POST and all the pictures and information on this forum!
