interesting thing 1:
schwinn notes their schwinn-built drop out rear fork ends.
so, all drop outs are fork ends, but not all fork ends are drop outs.
yeah yeah yeah, i know, i'm just stating the fact tho...call 'em what you like, just please don't call 'em rear axle hub plates or something.
and interesting thing B:
notice the lock ring on the new departure hub shown with the wheel nut axle thingies mentioned above: uniquely shaped, obviously no groove for stoplight switch.
i've heard folks say these are pre-war, but i've noticed them over the years on early post-war thru ~1949 bikes, never a pre-war.
so there you have it, 2 "interesting" things for the squishy grey hard drive, archive or designate for overwrite.
