Awhile back I picked up a clean 1956 Schwinn 24" boys bike but noticed a few broken spokes and a good amount of loose ones once I got it home. Today a neighbor down the road dropped off a garden bike that his wife no longer wanted. What I thought was something totally different turned out to be a 1949 skiptooth Schwinn 24" boys bike. The garden bike has a 26" front wheel off a lightweight bike so I need to replace this one. The rear looks really rough but runs true and actually isn't frozen up.
I know the bikes aren't worth much but my kids like the bikes and want to get both of them ridable again. How do I go about purchasing new spokes for the nice bike and what is my best option for replacement wheels on the garden bike?
