Finally riding a big boys bike
Hi wondering if I can get a little info on this new find I know the seat is not original the wood pedals are something I have not seen before.Hope the pics can help with what year it is also.

That's a nice bike.

It's a 1940/41 Manton&Smith built bike. The seat is incorrect as you stated. Wood pedal blocks were common during WW2 when rubber was rationed. Those may have been added.

I'd guess yours is from later in 41 as it's a plain model without truss rods but still had a rack and light. It still uses some chrome but wheels are painted. As the war approached chrome and accessories were used up as supplies lasted.
