$85.00 shipped

This heavy profile, 28 inch wood rim has that inner steel band to accept clincher type tires. The rim is straight and sports a New Departure model A hub. The arm is missing as shown, but can easily be found. The finger joints are fairly tight with the one chip out on one side only, as seen. ( easily repairable ) The rim has also been repainted that funky "red" at one time many years ago, that gives it an interesting appearance!

Also interested in knowing if 700c tires work on this rim.
Max

The bead seat diameter of a 700c wheel/tire is 622mm, the bead seat diameter of a 28" wheel is 635mm. The confusion comes in with continental old style tires. Some places call 700c 28" also. Similar to 1.75 and 1 3/4, they are mathematically the same, but the tires are way different. There are tires that will fit on that rim, usually they are marked 28 x 1 1/2. Original tires that are made for those rims above look like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/28-x-1-1-2...-for-Vintage-or-Veteran-Bicycles/253905233708

The above will only fit a 28" wheel if it has that metal adapter installed.

Good info to have, thank you for jumping in. This will also help with the sale of this great rim.
Any wood rim that you can ride by simply adding a tube and $20 tire is a big ++++
