This is my solution to cleaning the inside of a brake arm bushing.

Great idea, will have to try that. I use brake cylinder hones to clean out seat post tubes.

The Army cleaning kit for an M-16 has all sorts of useful brushes in it as I imagine cleaning kits for other caliber rifles might have.

Ha! I use the barrel brush for my pistol, too - That thing never wears out. You're right, many canti brake arms are squeaky clean from this little sucker. 'bout the same diameter as a quill stem bolt, too...
