The reasons why I labeled it as a Schwinn:
- it came from a collector who was meticulous with his labeling and identification and it was in a box labeled Schwinn gothic fender
- all research I found showed no dovetailed, flat braced fenders, with no dropstand clip holes except Schwinn
- paint scheme matched Schwinn and not Roadmaster, Elgin, Colson, or Columbia
- it had a prewar Schwinn script reflector attached and the underside of the fender was covered in mud and debris
- there are no rear fender indentations where it attaches to the upper rear stay
His reasoning for challenging it and he provided photo evidence:
- wrong fender brace (Schwinn flat brace has a half circle attaching the arms)
- possible wrong rivet location
- wrong paint scheme
BUT, I do not want to misrepresent any item that I’m offering for sale. So, I’m heading here and tagging in some Schwinn folks for some help. I would really appreciate any assistance anyone could offer.
