41 schwinn steer tubes locking springer

having a hard time figuring out proper springer steer tube lengths for my frames. last post got me more confused! so here goes... measuring the fork steer tube from bottom of bearing race to top of threads, how long would my tube need to be if my frame has a 6" head tube measured top to bottom no races? got a 6" frame tube i need a springer steer tube length for. getting ready to buy one and want to make sure

I should have a '41 coming in next week with locking springer. I will measure all parts before re-assembly and post if you don't get any help before then. V/r Shawn
