49 Shelby tires

Hello we just received are 49 flying cloud Shelby , was hoping to find out what. Evans tires are original for these bikes . I had a 52 with G3 goodyears . This one has lighting darts so any information would be great . Thank you so much Terry and Tammy

I think generally, unless you see a brand name tire listed in the ads, they probably wheeled & dealed for them, and whatever was the best deal went on the bikes. Not just Shelby, but most companies. The only exceptions would be Tire store badges like Firestone & Good Year, and of course Schwinn, once they created their own brand.

back when restorations were the kraze,the lightening dart tires were the tire of choice with that wide wihitewall
