My bad on the seat. I just looked at the shape; didn't pay attention to the details. 56 is correct for the serial number from what references I have.

I do have a long spring saddle I can put on it. But I dunno it's not that crucial for me really. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I know the first year Tiger used more of a heavy weight Schwinn type saddle.

My Corvette has a U89XXX serial, and dates to Oct. '56, according to the book I have, likely a '57 model. It had the two tone seat as in the pic Rivnut posted.
