Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello,

I am a very big fan of bicycles of all kinds, but my first love is BMX. I want to build an early BMX with an old stingray-style bike. I've always like Schwinns the most, but first and foremost this bike needs to be a rider. I have a few 70s related questions.

-What would the options be for a 70s muscle bike that wasn't too small to run larger than 6.5" cranks?

-What cranks were out in 76 that would have been larger than 6.5"? Were 7.5" Ashtabulas out yet?

-Am I going to need to get a beat up frame and re weld the bottom bracket to make 175mm or bigger cranks fit?
