Finally riding a big boys bike
I have a 70" elm bow stave that I'd like to see go to a new home. I purchased this over 20 years ago but never had the time to give it a try. I did some flint knapping back then but never branched out into carving (a little woody humor there).
It has been stored in a spare room, temperature and humidity controlled, since I purchased it. It's still nice and straight. It shows no signs of cracking or checking. What I don't know is if staves like this have a finite lifespan. Is it too dry now to use? Is it better because it aged? I honestly have no idea.
I'm in western PA and can meet someone within a reasonable distance. No shipping.
Thanks,
