i just bought a 79 c10. The motor has a mild cam. Headers and true duals. Right now it has cats and mufflers. I don’t know how they sound yet but I’m sure it’ll be quiet. Any recommendations on glass packs or mufflers that sound great with out being obnoxious?

If you don't want obnoxious don't buy glass packs. I hate them. You can't go wrong with Flowmaster.
I have them on my 2008 Tundra and I like them. Flowtech is also good mufflers.

... I run Flowmaster Hush Power mufflers with headers and full exhaust behind a 327 small block in my street rod ... and they sound awesome ...

I'm old and like the "old" Cherry Bomb glass packs. Had them on my 57 wagon, my 67 Chevelle and my 71 C-10 that had a mild cam, fuelie heads and headers. The sound of fart noises in a can doesn't sound that good to me.

The 71 right after I finished Restroying it.

Here it is. Doesn’t look like much. It’s all there. I have the front clip and everything else. It’s got very little rust. Going to be my daily driver once it’s done. DA21AEFB-DC69-4B58-B301-4C9A8168CCB4.jpeg

My C-20 dump runner. Dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. Nice deep rumble but not obnoxious.

Wheels are 19.5" factory high clearance option from the 60's. Really helps with the gearing.

Rebuilt 3 engines in my yard, put a 289 in my 1960 Falcon, started redoing a 1936 Chebby 1.5 ton... have slowed down quite a bit from those days!

I had that 71 for 14 years and it had three different sets of headers. All three times after installing the headers it had to be taken to the muffler shop with open headers to fit the pipes. My neighbors sure didn't wave to me and I got the one finger wave in traffic.
