9/32" axle shaft.....what nut to use?

I have an old Rambler bicycle with a front hub axle that measures 9/32". What size nut would that use?
Do you think bicycle manufacturers would use metric nuts in the mid 1890s? I can't find a 9/32" nut anywhere. It would be an M7 in metric, but the y only seem to have course thread nuts in M7.

If I hadn't just sold my 1900, I might have been able to find a nut for you. :(
be glad it's not a Keating, all their threads are weird.

Most metric sizes are available in both a fine thread and a coarse thread. You are probably not going to find the fine threads at Lowes though. Roger
