Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
A local collector buddy in the area here in So Cal had asked me to watch for a NICE Phantom for
the last few years. Lots of Phantoms... Lots of 'not nice'.
Lo and Behold... and I love this about Ebay... one of the nicest original Phantoms I've ever seen
pops up, terrible pix, no shipping, one vague sentence description.
Closer examination revealed the gem below. Story was ...Ebay guys' dad purchased the bike
some 20 years ago from the original owner, who got it new and "didn't like the way it rode" and
essentially parked it for 40 or 50 years. Ebay guy said the local paper in their Virginia town
wrote an article about the bike and his dads find, he's still trying to get me a copy of the article.
Very minor detailing and NO disassembly with the Uship blanket wrap delivery.
Original BFG "Standard" white walls are soft and like new!
My bud waited about 5 years to find a Phantom of this level. I think he got lucky...
probably a 10 year wait to find something this nice, a 9+ out of 10, again.
Enjoy the pix!
