A find...finally!

After years of my wife dragging me around to "antique" shops, I finally found something for me. See photos. Can someone please identify the vintage? I know it's Elgin (obvious). The sprocket teeth are pretty worn.

Cool find.I think it was advertised as their "air cooled" brake hub.I think the first year was around 1937

Does the "531-10" signify anything? Date?

Wife and I go Antiquing as well. I rarely find bike stuff.

Take it apart, they are pretty cool inside. Not impressed by their braking power but they certainly are well made.

I can’t pass an antique store without checking it out but it’s not like years ago, very hard pressed to find anything.
