The Three Spires Sporting
I helped my mom clean out her garage and would like some help with identifying two bicycles I found buried behind a leaning piece of ancient drywall (along with a few less savory things I hesitate to mention...).
The Three Spires Sports Model 3-speed I understand was built by a company that was acquired by Raleigh in Conventry, England in 1954; my mom's brother got it as a 16th birthday present in Springfield, MA in or around September of 1959. Is it curious how the bicycle made it across the pond four years after Three Spires was taken over?
The Hercules AMF "exercise" bicycle is a one-speed and, from the looks of it, brakes by reversing the pedal direction like the bicycles I rode when I was a kid. My mom has no idea where this one came from, or (more likely) she doesn't remember.
Any help with information regarding provenance and/or value would be greatly appreciated.
