Robert Troub

I live for the CABE
So I soaked this ( chrome Schwinn Tubular S-7) wheel in some Wood Bleach......cleans the chrome pretty good, but it leaves a crusty residue on the spokes.....any advice on a "quick clean"?

I've been using 000 steel wool, but this will take forever....

Your thoughts are appreciated

steel wool will remove any plating that's left along with the rust.
she spokes will be silver in color (not the dullish gray they should be) and will rust right up again.
it's not difficult to zinc plate at home, but it's time consuming to do spokes and of course you have to take the wheel apart and respoke it.
i've done it and spokes look like NOS when done, but the metal has to be smooth to start.
