AMF Roadmaster Skyrider Deluxe - Info help please?

Look Ma, No Hands!
I stumbled across this AMF Roadmaster Skyrider Deluxe and picked it up. I don't know anything about them. Any insight as to manufacturer, age, etc., would be appreciated. I'm hoping there's some life left in the original paint. It appears to be all original and complete (?) with the exception of the missing light lens. Not sure what that should look like, any help or a photo would be welcomed. Thanks.

Built by AMF in the '60's, probably in Little Rock, AR. That tank was introduced in 1960 but the first couple of years used a steel front cover, the plastic version on yours was first used in 1962 I believe. Most serial numbers for this time had a letter as the first character which told the year, yours is odd with no letter visible, but here's a couple of pages from the 1964 catalog, and you can see yours looks very close.

AMF bikes fascinate me. You can tell that some of the people were trying hard, but I get the impression that corporate was tight with the money, so it was always an uphill battle for the division.

From a girls bike , lens is the same , good chrome on bezel , but lens would have a downward angle if installed on boys tank. Perfect if you use your bezel

Apprecitate the info and offer, but too early for me. Haven't yet decided what I'm going to do with this. Too many projects, probably won't start on this (if I keep it) until fall or winter. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

This is the third or fourth AMF I've seen with the handlebar stem turned backwards. Maybe the handlebars on the earlier bikes had more pull back?
