Most likely 1950s. This basic frame design was used by Murray on their chain driven trikes for several years so it would be hard to pinpoint an exact year. Being a Mercury model, the front wheel would probably have had a rain gutter style mudguard fender and the seat would either be a streamlined rubber top with short springs or a sewn on vinyl top style with beehive springs. The mercury line of trikes was a step up from the basic Murray line.
No problem! I've been researching and collecting tricycles for about 30 years and have come to being able to identify many of them by unique design features. The one you have could be as early as the 1940s and the metal head badge being attached by rivets seems to indicate one of the earlier Mercury models. Here's a photo of what it may have looked like complete, having a rain gutter fender, sewn on vinyl cover seat, and even sporting rear hub caps, though the correct rubber hand grips would have been the black pointed type -
