Up for consideration is a believed to be Schwinn built Hawthorne Deluxe Moto Bike early 1920's
Bicycle has had extensive mechanical improvements in order to be equipped to do bicycle touring and long-distance excursions. Can't think of any nut bolt that hasn't been turned. Too much to list between NOS parts, original parts, professional painting, hand pinstripes, Wheel set, Restored saddle etc. If interested, please PM me, be glad to send more pictures and provide information to the best of my knowledge & research.
Bicycle accessories shown in picture included. P&H 1922 Acetylene carbide gas light fully functionable and complete, converted to 40 lumen LED without any modification to original lamp easily changed back uses One ( 9V ) battery. nice vintage bell and 1950's round mirror.
This bicycle rides smooth, straight and very comfortable spent many hours in the saddle. Very dependable rider. Note no attempt made to metal finish fenders, frame, or toolbox tank all in great shape. Original patina left, prepped and painted. Bicycle show's very well and is actually ride able on a daily basis or display it in your collection and admire - lots of smiles.
Yes, added newer 1930's Wald universal chain guard (easily taken off if no want) also NOS Wald 26t chain ring (original chain ring comes with sale has shark teeth so removed)
Tuned up, - regreased- wheel set bench stand trued, ready to go!
Not perfect as one would expect, but mechanically & artfully restored.
Bicycle needs nothing!! No rust!!
Best suitable for riders 5'8"- 6' Frame 20.5" stand over height 32.5" I'm 5'8 and seat can be raised up another 3-4 "safely Thanks for viewing
Might consider trade for nice Pre-War Schwinn, Excelsior, or Mead Bicycles Can trade up/down with money let me know what you have?
Thanks for viewing
