The frame is a CWC product, namely the “Tall Tank” straight-bar frame that was in production from late 1940 through early 1942. The serial number will indicate roughly where it falls within that window.

Nothing else appears to be original to that bike though, and it looks like the frame was resurrected with most of the parts from a perhaps slightly later Huffman product (including the fork which is a Huffman unit.) The undersize chainring, and the fork's steerer-tube length lead me to believe the parts were transferred from a girl’s model.

The frame would not have originally been badged or sold as a Hawthorne as this pattern frame was never offered as a MW model.
