I think the first curved line says something FRAME, then i see the word WHEEL, and 1896 and Nov., some patent info probably. Hoping someone recognizes it and had an ad or better pic of their own

Here's a little better picture of that.
This is on a 1896/97' Davis.
My guess, and I bet others know way more than me, this company sold the back end of the bike with this shock and the manufactures made the front end and combined them?

I have an Iver Johnson bike with the
    rear brakes stamped with information
regarding the patent years and location.

Not sure but I'm thinking that the years engraved (1899- 1909) are in reference
to the period the patents were issued or
updated and not the year the frame was
made. But I am only guessing, perhaps
someone that knows can share their
    information.

I'd be curious to know how many and what kind of bikes have this.
Does anybody have info on this company?

So, I see where it looks like just the rear shock is added to a frame and some are claiming the whole frame as a cushion frame.
Did Hygenic Wheel make the entire frame or just the components?

My Cleveland has the entire frame as a cushion system. Its quite different than anything I have ever seen.
