i have a couple small parts I need stripped as Someone painted them and would like chrome dipped.
Anyone know anyone that can do this and at a good price?
No such thing as chrome at a good price anymore! If the parts have detail such as hub shells with date codes or other markings be careful where you send them. A lot of places not familiar with bike stuff will grind and buff and you will get a shiny turd back. I use either Kro-Pro (formerly Proctor's) (Norton Shores, MI) or Custom Plating Specialist (Brillion, WI). V/r Shawn
Hey man, thanks for the tip. There's a couple places in north Charlotte I was gonna check out, or there's a home diy plating kit I read about.
I only have two small non detail pieces. I finally got my firestone, one problem, that front head badge shield that is in front of the tank, they painted it! That and the cool rear reflector bumper. Both have no detail, just want them chromed. I dig. $35 each to do if a wheel costs $100.
My cousin in Toledo, OH owns a chrome shop and does some really nice work
He has mainly been doing chroming for Harleys, cars being restored, snowmobiles and mis stuff and I told him about the CABE and classic bicycle resto and it's something he really never thought of.

No such thing as a "Chrome Dipper" First the parts have to be cleaned, then polished, then a base layer of copper, polish, layer of Nickle, polish then a final layer of Chrome, polish.
Always depends on condition of your parts. My rims cost $400 because they were bad. The crank/sprocket, truss rods, neck, and maybe some other random small parts was around $350 total. They were good with communication if you send them a picture of the parts you want chromed they will give you an estimate back.
