Looks like a hand powered bench mounted trim saw. Hard to believe huh?

Here's a big version of a man powered circular saw.

Device used in the Hawaiian Shave Ice .business.

Used to create the initial ''fracture-line'' along the
larger slabs of ice ... enabling the business oper-
ator to utilize preferred, smaller blocks ... as they
fit into the ''shave shack'' much better than the
    ''glaciers'' do.

Interesting! Are the sides of that disk finished like a file? Seems like maybe you clamp it in a vise, cut wood mouldings close to proper angle, then use the file portion to even them up to 45 degrees, and whatever angle the other side is?

Yes: the sides of the disk are like a file.

...and people scoff at the Industrial Revolution. When it came to digit removal, those dentures look like they made a pretty rough cut. Progress!!!

Gentle Readers ... time for me to open up
to you to reveal some of the hellish nature
    of my thought-formation process.

In several postings, over the years ... can
remember saying, ''Oh, OCD isn't so bad ...
especially if you have the ability to harness
it's power .. and use it as an energy source
for a state of being I refer to as stick-to-it-ive.''

Sticktuitive is nothing more than a made-up
word that I use to falsely act out as tho' I actu-
ally enjoy being throttled by my own thoughts ..
to continue to move forward with my own
thought process -- to continue to spin the wheels
    of A Crazy Train.

In reality, the thought process itself is moving
forward with me ... whether I like it or not.

The issue is not that I am responding to an interesting
    thread.

The issue is that I feel powerless to stop responding.

Am typing here .. in this moment ... have a mas-
sive acid stomach ... racing heartbeat .. and the
feeling of nausea permeates my core.

It's 4:25 a.m. in my room. Right now I am walking
away from something that was, for a time, very,
very fun. I really was having a great time with
rustjunkie's thread, ''Anyone know what this is ?''
    But I can't be a player anymore ... within this thread --
    It is too painful.

OCD is some serious shi#. Am taking responsibility
for my own happiness ... same as I did years ago
when alcohol was slammin' me around and shovin'
    a grapefruit in my face.

Am also asking the consideration of my good friends,
Scott Mc ... and those Mods ... to allow my statement
to be here ad infinitum ... If my openness with this
painful topic helps just one CABEr ... then it is worth
    me tellin' my truth.

Still learning to treat myself with a little more honor and dignity ...

    ..... patric
