I live for the CABE
Pulled this off a 1961 Schwinn 3 Speed and can;t make out that first word before "Sport". I'm going to move this over to my late 40s Rudge lightweight and put some old Schwinn Brakes on the 3 Speed. No chainguard, no idea if it was a Traveler, Collegiate, etc.?

Your bike is a Racer. I’ve never seen one of those brake calipers and have no idea what that first word is. It strikes me as odd that someone would replace the brake calipers on a Schwinn with something from who knows what.

Lagrati Sport?? Must be Italian!
Lol
No, but seriously, I can't make out that first word for certain either. I'm imagining they took liberties from the Lambretta font though.

It's definitely not original to that short frame Racer. The Aluminum calipers were well in use by 1961. I agree, the steel caliper would look better on an older, less domesticated lightweight.

I've got a couple sets of 60s-70s Schwinn calipers floating around the parts boxes. I will be replacing this odd mismatched set with some Schwinn approved Weinmann's. It has an interesting mix of parts with a SA trigger shifter but the 3 speed hub is an "Schwinn Approved Austria" model. Maybe it was just well used and had lots of replaced parts over the years.

It's local bike with a Berkeley Cycle and Toy shop sticker, hasn't traveled far from the shop. It also had nice bow pedlas on it thay I switched over to my 58 American Frame.

Chain tread tires! What rims are on that Racer?

Your caliper is an Agrati branded caliper. It's not bad, but it's a basic caliper made from steel. The Schwinn would have had Schwinn Approved Weinmann 810 calipers. The Rudge would have the old steel Raleigh Industries calipers for proprietary (double-ended) cables.
