are Schwinn blade forks weldable ???

I'm talking about extended forks for a chopper.. just thinking in my head.. cutting one fork long and another fork short and welding the long parts together where they match.

The short answer is yes. From an engineering standpoint I would say it's not a good idea. Just remember when a fork snaps somebody usually it's hurt.

I have been welding on frames and suspensions of vintage cars for 20 years. I have built all sorts of crazy stuff.

I just want to be sure this is weldable steel. besides, it is not like a chopper bike will be doing 50 MPH downhills.
