AS&CO crank dating??

-

BF2485

Finally riding a big boys bike
Is there a way to date the cranks? I saw AS&CO on 1 side , and a diamond and the number 7 on the other side...it is a dogleg crank. The bike it's on is supposedly a 45-46 ? Serial number is J75526. This bike does have the early Bendix rear hub with the oil cap that is help on with a screw . Thanks!!

Some cranks were dated, and others weren't. I've seen no dated 1950's cranks and very few post war 40's cranks. I have a 1943 dated dog leg crank and seen a few 45's and one 46. 1960 seems to be the year where all Schwinn cranks started being dated.
