Hello!
I got the frameset from an AS-THOR road bike and trying to find more info about this brand.
I know what AS-THOR bikes were produced in Torhout, Belgium and i saw 3-speeder thread.
I will be glad for any information and photos.
Some photos of mine frameset:

Hello and welcome to the forum! 😉

this is quite a rare marque you have

date appears near to 1974

thank you for the many photos

photo tip: drive side images give more information than do non-drive side ones, despite the many pictures we do not have a single drive side one

1701903000746.png

this image suggests removal of a transfer by scraping with a straight edge - one possibility might have been a licensing sticker

saddle pillar diameter will give a clue as to tubing employed in construction; a measurement of 26.2mm or 26.4mm would suggest quality plain gauge tubing while a smaller size would suggest ordinary high-tensile tubing

cycle appears it may have been a one up from the base sort of model

frame:

lug pattern employed appears to be BOCAMA (FR)
fork crown appears to be Vagner model DL+ (FR)
bottom bracket shell looks like it may be EDA (FR)
seat stay treatment is an economy one where a wedge is cut out of the top and then brazed closed

there appears to be a marking on the lateral side of the left fork blade; are you able to make it out?

small bits -

headset appears it may be REWAX (FR)
water bottle holder is Allara / AL-E (IT)
seat binder is ALGI (FR)

thank you for sharing the bicycle

member @3-speeder will likely wish to participate in the discussion, also member @non-fixie

hope this helps you a little

one possible maker for the headset is the firm of Woit (BE)

number markings in lugs refer to angle in degrees between tube sockets

1701963464463.png

seat lug is BOCAMA pattern Nr. P

interesting to see that all braze-ons were removed prior to respray

were any markings found on bottom bracket fittings?

Nice find!

I have nothing to add to what @juvela has already stated, other than that I have a soft spot for bikes like these. Built to a (low) price point, but it's all there: a decent frame, decent components. Everything the average person needs for a pleasant cycling experience. In terms of bang-for-your-buck these bikes were excellent.

A detail I particularly like about this bike is the seat tube decal:

Eigen werk gewaarborgd. Own work guaranteed!

I want to put that on my own builds. 😀

Nice to see another machine of this marque. Sad to see the metal tone painted over, I liked that about my bike. I wonder if the Arius saddle on yours was the original? I see the image of the post-clamp bares an Ideale stamping, perhaps it may have originally worn an Ideale saddle? Thanks for sharing.

I am almost completely sure that the IDEALE saddle was originally installed, because it is French, like almost everything on this bike, unlike the Spanish Arius

a saddle pillar size of 26.2mm is suggestive of a quality plain gauge frame tube set

Reynolds could be a possibility but given the national origin something from Ateliers De La Rive (VITUS) would be more likely

also, BE had begun the use of Ishiwata tubing a year or two prior to the machine's manufacture

have you determined threading and tube diameters?

IIRC the example of @3-speeder was determined to have a metric dimension bottom bracket shell

only a small fraction of BE producers build to metric standard, most employ BSC/ISO

metric would indicate a member of the Walloon community

do you have an aim to replicate the cycle's original transfers?

---

the example found by member @non-fixie. on a Belgian classifieds site certainly bears a very close resemblance to the subject machine

the two look like they could be the same model from the same time...
