Ashtabula forks, are these Motomag or Schwinn?
Stamped 16 & “2 something something” on outer right fork
Stamped 77 & 144 77

Are these 20” forks?

Just trying to get some correct info, thanks!

Very cool braced BMX forks. They sold these aftermarket, too. I’m not familiar with any bikes that had these stock.

I just happened to be in the 77 manual this morning. I didn't get a chance to look through any of the other ones before I left for work.

I'm pretty sure these are heavy duty accessory forks since they don't say Ashtabula on the sides.

They look EXACTLY like Ashtabula forks sold on the bay

Huh? Do you mean there repros out there now or do you just mean old Ebay auctions of used forks? If there are repros out there, ignore my post.

They sure look like Ashtabula aftermarket reinforced BMX forks to me. I don't know about the stampings on the inside (144 77 etc.). That may be perfectly normal, I just don't recall that detail. They were available with and without the Ashtabula name forged on the outside. Expect them to appear a size longer than normal (24" fork length for a 20" bike and so on). There is an Ashtabula catalog on BMXMuseum that I suspect is from about 1977. Whatever year it is, they hadn't really hit their stride in BMX yet, so does not include everything you might expect. For instance, the cranks max out at 6-1/2" in that catalog. I once had a PDF of a later catalog from near the end that was much more complete, but I have since lost it.
