Finally riding a big boys bike
Selling an original 36 hole Atom rear drum brake which came off a 1979 Schwinn Spitfire 5. All complete with hardware for brake line as well as the free wheel cog cassette and chrome guard. Will fit 1978-1979 Schwinn Spitfire/Spitfire 5 and also 1980-1982 Schwinn Cruiser 5. Very last pic on this post is one of my drums I had polished. Come out nice and clean.

Very good question. I would call a bike shop for this question as I'm not sure if you could use a single sprocket in the rear. I myself have never seeing this done.
 
Will a single speed sprocket fit on it ? And line up with front sprocket ?
Ok- just made a call to a guy I use to work on my schwinns. Yes you can run the single sprocket in the rear with a drum brake and it will match up with the front sprocket- but they would have to space it out in the rear for everything to line up.
