Auction find but what did I find?

Went to an auction yesterday to buy a washer and dryer for my son but these ended up selling for so little that I couldn't help buying them. I'm not a bicycle person and just want to get these in the hands of someone who will cherish and restore them. What should I price them at or list them as?

The middle 1970’s girls Huffman 3-speed looks hardly ever even used.

In a college town, those might be considered as hipsters’ bikes?

As long as you got these cheap, and I’m talking $10 or less each, then you have a chance of doubling your money. Not really considered collectible and not worth restoring. Might make ok riders for someone though. V/r Shawn

Those are classified as a Lightweight. 1970's issue and not worth too much but they look like they're in slightly used well preserved condition. Cost of new tires, tubes and brake pads may exceed the value of the bikes, but for someone just needing cheap transportation they would be decent candidates.

C. Itoh is not a cycle manufacturer but rather a sort of marketing company

two wheelers bearing their name are contract produced

as mentioned above, many are done in Japan by Bridgestone

have also seen some produced in Mexico by the firm ACER-MEX

there was a line of them whose frames were produced with steel tubes and cast aluminum lugs - look like nothing else...

subject cycle of very little value as suggested previously

mostly sold in mass market chainstores rather than bicycle shops

appears to date from early 1970's

Brand recognition is everything. If the Huffy is in good mechanical condition, that would $50-$65 ride here.

The green bike would be a hard sell because to collectors it’s not worth anything, and to people looking for a daily driver, it is not something they will search for and recognize.

There seems to be more old bikes than there are people who want to protect them. These bikes need you. I always buy tires and ride what moves across my field of vision. My favorite ride is a $25 bike and it don't know that it ain't pretty.

If I was local I would get into the boys bike for $75 ish..... The 3 speed LW's make great neighborhood riders and that one would clean up nice.

Condition is an issue also. To get anything out of them, both of those are going to have to be cleaned up and rolling.
The green one would clean-up well and with the decals removed would probably sell for $80-100 on looks alone. Its a pretty color and people buy looks. The Huffy is a $40 bike in clean running shape.
