Balloon Tire Sources (?)

-
Ya, when are we going to see more of the chain tread tires? I need a set of cream walls, I can't find anything lately.
Vee rubber look okay

I like old tires on my old bikes.... mostly

does anyone make a 60 PSI (or higher) tire 26 x 2.125 that is just blackwall and no white stripes or wording?

Traditional 26” balloon tires aren’t available downunder so my go to tires are the S&M Speedball 70 psi 2.4 and the Cult Vans 65 psi 2.1.

Both are quality tires with strong sidewalls, they ride and handle well with little rolling resistance and minimal text on the sidewalls. You could black out any of the text on them with a permanent black marker.

S&M speedballs 2.4 on my ‘53 Roadmaster. Clear the fenders, no rubbing. Very durable construction.

I have also used the Electra Retrorunner 2.1. They look great and ride well but the sidewalls are not as strong as the 2 previous tires and flex more.

those "speedballs" look good to me. I may have to get a set.

They sell out quickly here. Had a look at a couple of websites for you in the USA and they’re sold out too. Maybe contact S&M bikes through their website and ask when the next lot arrives. Definitely worth waiting for. Best 26” tires I have ever used. The 80psi kenda Kiniptions are also great but the downside is the loud lettering on the side. I have them on the Kos i’m riding now. Taking a break at the beach. All the best, Ozzie.
