OCNJ boardwalk biker

'Lil Knee Scuffer
Hi vintage bike experts
I’m looking for information on what company manufactured this Spaceliner Chrome Classic mid century bike. Any ideas on value? Restoration advice? I’ve been told Murray mfg’d this bike for Sears; others say no, it was Schwinn who produced this wonderful all chrome men’s bike. Looking for information. The seat is a ladies Troxel and has a chrome bar edgingvthe rear of the seat. Aside from beings ladies seat on a mans bike...I’m looking for expert feedback from you serious collectors. It has some minor rust-any recipes to correct that problem easily? Thank you.
It will look great in the OCNJ boardwalk! It’s awesome.

Clear coat? A top wax I presume you mean.
Would I ‘remove it’with a car detergent type product?
Or is a solvent of some type required?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Oddly I couldn’t find anywhere on the bike that said something like
“Spaceliner by Murray”
The handles - old red ones are branded Schwinn. I guess that added to the confusion
About the mfg origin. Of course they could’ve joined the bike at a later time.
I love the chrome and mid-century “space age feel in the design.
It’s tge perfect ride for a lazy boardwalk ride.
Again, thank you for the information.
The bike is also a middleweight that has balloon tires on it.

So...the tires are not correct for this bike?
What is the correct tire to put on the bike?
These have a kool appearance but do sort of overfill the fenders-the big whitewalls have a great look.
But I’d like to dress it out correctly.
Any thoughts on its value?
Thank you

I believe all the Spaceliners (Sears) used this frame style. There were different chrome frame models but I'm not really familiar with the Murray built bikes.

And it looks like dead clear coat on your frame, not wax. Goof Off maybe for removal.

I love the futuristic designs of these vintage bikes.

I had a Flamboyant Red Kent made 1962 Twin top bar and cantilever bar as a kid and thought that was the coolest frame in town. Not sure what manufacturer first started making these multi-bar frames but I really like the styling.
