Bendix aviation 2 speed question

I have a dumb question about the bendix 2 speed aviation trigger shift hub. Can it be ridden without the cable hooked up? Will it work as a single speed?

Yes, I've run one without the cable. It was stuck in low gear.

same here. no cable equals low gear only. it is not a bad gear as long as you don't want to fly down a hill.
