I have 2 hubs to choose between for a build I’m doing, just not sure the Bendix coaster hub was correct for a 1946 b7 . I thought New Departure were the main hubs for Schwinn till 1974? The Bike I have came with schwinn script front hub and this Bendix rear hub and is the oldest one I've ever seen. wheels look original and I don’t think they were switched. I‘m aware of the mid weights having the Bendix kick back hubs, just never seen one on early balloon bikes.

Bendix kickback didn't come out till 60, predecessor to that was the Bendix Aviation manual 2sp with coaster brakes and that was in the 50s.

It would have been hard for Schwinn to have used New Departure hubs up to 1974. New Departure stopped making them in 1959, and the hubs were used only until supplies ran out. So I think you could safely say by 1960 it was over on the OE side.

For the disbeliever's sake, this was printed in the 1959 Schwinn Reporter. If you need the Reporter month, just ask.

My '46ish B-607 has a New Departure D, with that exact same arm. That Bendix hub looks very early based on the grease/oil port. My '52 Panther has a Bendix - no grease port. The Bendix script is painted red, though,
