Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
The brake on the Bendix tends to be stronger than on the ND Model D, if that is a concern for you. If going more for period part to 1946, I'd go with the ND Model D. A supplemental front brake is a good idea if you're riding in a hilly area.

Finally riding a big boys bike
Got both hubs cleaned and greased, going with the ND, I’ll save the Bendix for another project. Shelby, Hawthorn, or Huffman are next. I’ve had many Schwinns over the years and am content on a B6 and BA-107 for now.
