Nice original 1935 Bianchi Bovet, 54cm size. Features a unique Vittoria Margheritta gear system using a sprung tension arm mounted on the chainstay and placed the striking fork above the chainstay so requiring back pedaling to change gears. Championnat Du Monde wood rims. Bianchi crank and seat. Universal brakes. Do have original stem as shown. PM or email [email protected]. Can ship.

I have seen this bike in person, and while the photos are excellent, they do not do it justice. It is an exquisite specimen of one of the iconic early advancements in derailleur technology, the Vittoria Margherita. Named for Queen Vittoria Margherita in 1932, who was obviously hot, the improved iteration found on Mark’s bike went on to win every Giro d’Italia from 1936 to 1940, as well as the Tour de France in 1938.

Personal favorite aspect of this bike is the chain oiling reservoir in the seat tube, with the pivoting chain oiler directly above the chainring:
