Rammstein

Look Ma, No Hands!
I picked up this step-thru today. There is no indication of brand on the headtube or chainguard, nor a serial number I can find. I am thinking Sears/JC Higgins Spaceliner that is missing the tank, but that is just a guess. Can anyone identify what brand it is and perhaps approximate year of manufacture? The seller did not know. It has obviously been repainted, probably more than once. Someone went through a lot of effort for the current paint, the hubs and spokes are pink, with blue nipples to match the rims, fork pivots and fender tips.

Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Looks like a '60's Spaceliner to me. Rat trap springer, the rear rack and the reflector, Higgins chainring.Look for a serial number on the brake side rear dropout.

I did some further cleaning and wire brushing, found part of the serial number on the brake side rear dropout as @ian suggested. The first few letters or numbers are under the axle nut/washer, so that will have to wait. What I can make out is 502 46911 0561293. I have been digging through the online Sears catalogs and have only found the 46911 model in the 64 (W6K46911N) and 65 (W6A46911N) catalogs for a Spaceliner with the torsion spring fork. The chainring is the same in the catalog as what is on the bike.

I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
1963 maybe? I think the fender braces changed on the later 60's models.
