Bike License Plate with "MAR-KING" band

Here is a vintage plate that was secured to the bike seat tube with the MAR-KING band.
These were apparently installed not to be removed. The end is broken off of the band as you can see. The plate is in excellent condition. I have no idea what the letters or numbers indicate. These were removed from a 1952 Schwinn. Plate size is 2"tall x 2-5/8" wide.

The Mar-King Co. was in Los Angeles. Your plate should be from Fredericksburg, TX.
