It looks like standard and narrow gauge, but then has obviously been abandoned, and either buckled on purpose or by expansion.

I was thinking it looks like it's been done purposely.
Perhaps to stop 'pesky' kids from having fun on one of those hand-lever operated rail carts; great fun he says, speaking from personal experience, lol!

It is The Sulphite Bridge locally known as The Upside-down Covered Bridge. It was designed to catch the Sulphite being brought to the paper mills, in downtown Franklin NH from falling into the river. I'm with Darren on the reason for the rails being bent to keep those pesky kids from having fun. It was in use until 1973 when the last mill closed. There has since been at least 2 fires (likely arson) under the bridge. Compromising the covered sides. The bridge seems to be stable,as the city has not blocked access to it. Very scenic area and Trail. Glad to have it in my neighborhood. One of my favorite places to stop for pictures on The Winnipesaukee River Trail. Stay safe and have fun. Hammerhead

Paint is a little faded, but I think she's still sorry Ernie.
Should have ridden a Belknap bike to this one!
Shore was a bit too slippery to get past the trees for a better shot.
