Finally riding a big boys bike
Picked a Schwinn Green Phantom recently.. Been in the hobby for 15 years, I always thought I'd strike a phantom in first few years but I didn't until now. I've passed by some phantoms that were priced high, bad shape, many wrong parts on it, and not for sale. Finally! I'm a proud owner of one awesome patina phantom esp in green!
I bought it from a guy who found it few blocks away from him at a garage sale from an elderly doctor that took it out from garage that was left for over 20 years, doc told him that it was his brother's bike that he rode it everyday for 20 years. The brothers called the bike "The Hornet".
The guy who sold me swapped the rims/tires to ride it, he also gave me the original rims/tires. They're shot. Thanks to his girlfriend who told him that he had to sell it. He only owned it for a month, and this will stay in my collection for a long time.
Here's some photos I took.. It's missing the rear light, and possibly front fender light??
Enjoy!
