Looks legit to me and it's a shame it's missing the guard. Schwinn did do a batch of these in Black and I call them COPO's. I don't know all the details but there were some Black Rays produced.

Looks right to me also. There was talk that they never made black Stingrays but original ones have been showing up. BUT, that is a ton of money for that bike in my opinion.
