Look Ma, No Hands!
This bottom bracket axle (cottered) currently resides, but I suspect is not native to, a Schwinn Continental from somewhere around 1944-46. Can anyone tell me what these markings signify? I'm particularly interested in the figure on the left. Thanks.

the symbol on the left of the photo is the Raleigh Industries one with the letters R I

it shows Sir Wally leaning over a shield with the Raleigh R I crest

16GC is the model number

it indicates a spindle of 5" 11/32" in length (135MM)

its Raleigh sales number is RBA105

the drive side is 1 13/16" in length

the non-drive side is 1 11/32" in length

the centre section is 2 3/16" in length

diameter is 5/8"
